Earning your Online Graduate Certificate in Computing Technology will provide you with basic foundational knowledge in the field of computer science and information technology (IT). This certificate provides a standalone credential for career-building and advancement opportunities and also serves as a bridge program to transition students into the Master of Science in Information Technology – Applied Information Technology program. Students will learn the fundamentals of computer software programming and computer hardware as well as discrete mathematics and data structures and algorithms.

What is the Length of the Program?
Our certificate programs are designed to be completed in less than one year. Sessions begin every 8 weeks to provide students with maximum flexibility in working around their current schedules and responsibilities.
How Much Does the Program Cost?
Bootcamp courses are $2000 each (for a program total of $8000*) and are designed to prepare students with foundational knowledge of the IT industry. Bootcamp courses are eligible for Financial Aid if taken in conjunction with the MS in Information Technology: Applied IT degree program.

Students in this program will take their classes via the Canvas online learning management system, which provides 24/7 access to course materials and tests/assessments. Self-paced learning enables students to complete weekly lessons and assignments on their own schedule, while web-based communication tools allow them to engage and collaborate with faculty and classmates.
Montclair State makes no distinction between its campus-based and internet-based programs; there is no reference to “online” on the diploma or transcripts. Employers will only see that the degree comes from a respected university with a distinguished history dating back to 1908. In addition, online students are encouraged to participate in the graduation ceremony on campus in Montclair, New Jersey.
